Give Me 5 Questions: Fr. Jack Timlin, CM

A monthly series in Vincentian Voices where we ask five random questions to an Eastern Province Priest or Brother. This month, we talk with Fr. John “Jack” Timlin, CM, who serves as pastor of St. Mary’s Parish in Greensboro, NC, a parish known to represent the rainbow of cultures, races, and colors as one Catholic community. We thought we’d ask Fr. Timlin a few questions.

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for the gift of life, the gift of Faith, my family, my Vincentian Brothers, and the good people with whom and to whom I minister.

What piece of advice would you share with your younger self?

Be open to wherever God leads you and you will be at peace.

One fact about me that might surprise you is…

With me, what you see is what you get. So, I don’t think there are any surprises as I am pretty ordinary.

If you could have the power of teleportation right now, where would you go and why?

I would like to go back to my high school and college years to learn from my mistakes and take more advantage of the opportunities for learning that were available to me.

What is an easy way to do something nice for someone?

Have a kind word for everyone and try to be present to those who are suffering. Be kind and faithful.
