A day in the life of a seminarian
Where is God calling you?Follow a day in the life of a Vincentian seminarian, Erick. He invites us to walk with him and experience the rhythm of seminary life in New York City. Prayer, study, service, and brotherhood help form this rhythm.
From the stillness of morning prayer to the bustle of classes at St. John’s University, we witness how life can be dynamically shaped by God’s calling. Erick shares that, in the formation house, there is no competition or judgment, only true camaraderie, mutual support, and the joy of that shared call.
The video also allows us to follow Erick to a Home Depot parking lot where he serves coffee, sandwiches, companionship, and shares the comfort of Christ with day laborers. We see him bond with a homebound parishioner. On a Sunday, we follow Erick as he rides the New York subway to visit different Catholic churches. He tells us every experience reminds him that his vocation is not about him, but it’s about being with God’s people.
Inspired by the life and mission of St. Vincent de Paul, Erick personifies our pursuit to always see Christ in the eyes of the poor and marginalized.
