The Appointment of the New Assistant General Is Announced
The Superior General Fr. Tomaž Mavrič, CM, has appointed Fr. Abdo Eid, CM, from the Province of the Orient, as Assistant General. Born in 1968, in Lebanon. In 1994, Fr. Eid was ordained a priest within the Province of Orient, where he began his ministry at the Minor Seminary. In 1998, he joined the international mission of El Alto, Bolivia, where he served for 11 years. Upon his return to Lebanon in December 2009, he was appointed director of the Internal Seminary. In 2014, he became chaplain at Collège Saint Joseph of Antoura, before being appointed its Superior in 2020 — a position he continues to hold to this day. He pursued studies in philosophy and theology in Piacenza, Italy, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Catholic University of Bolivia, and obtained a master’s degree in educational management from Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Lebanon.
May God bless you in the week ahead, and may Our Lady wrap you in her love and grace, drawing you closer to her Son.
Yours in St. Vincent,

Fr. John Freund, CM

“For those younger than 50, whether they realize it or not, their experience of the Church comes through the lens and practices of Vatican II. It is an important reality to be aware of as we try to make sense of the full history of the church in her first fifteen centuries, and her unusual last half millennium.”
Fr. Aidan Rooney, CM

“Jesus uses the expression ‘at hand,’ as in ‘the Kingdom of God is at hand.’ It’s a phrase meaning ‘just around the corner, immanent, right over the horizon.’
“Feeling its pull, we can sense ourselves standing in expectation – head up, eyes open wide, straining to catch that first hint of what’s still on the way.”
