Our Current Issue of Vincentian Voices

the week of June 19, 2025
Thank you for opening Vincentian Voices today. This is the newsletter of the Vincentians of the Eastern Province. This week, we focus on the perspectives of our Vincentian priests, including Fr. John Freund, CM, whose writings return to VinSights!
Kudos to the six readers who correctly guessed last week’s electrovalent bond question. That was taken from an AP chemistry practice exam!
Let’s get started with this week’s Vincentian news.
Vinsights
Vincentian Insights from the Province
Fr. John Freund, CM

“Many of us sit back, acting as armchair quarterbacks, passing judgment on what we see from a distance. We make judgments. But, we don’t react to wrongs we see with much sadness, let alone action.”
Fr. Tom McKenna, CM

“The lesson for us: to stand with the disciples and listen to this farewell sentence as if we were hearing it for the first time: ‘Love one another. As I have loved you, so you should love one another.'”
Fr. Pat Griffin, CM

“One need not go to Paris to claim the promises of the Blessed Mother or to celebrate the gift of the Miraculous Medal. But, there is something special about this simple Chapel.”

Grozio,
CM
Dear friends,
Last Tuesday, St. Vincent’s Seminary celebrated the priesthood and vows anniversaries of the confreres with a festive dinner. We thanked Our Lord for the call to Vincentian ministry that we have received. Let us always pray that Our Lord will continue to call young men to be Vincentian priests and brothers.
The Vincentian Solidarity Office’s Annual Report for 2024
[The Vincentian Solidarity Office (VSO) is a program of service of the General Curia of the Congregation of the Mission in Rome, Italy. Its mission is to mobilize and manage resources while also building capacity and accountability for its work of evangelization and service of the poor.]
Fr. Joel Bernardo, CM, has shared the VSO Annual Report for 2024. At the Visitors Meeting in Paris, Vincentian Provinces around the world expressed their gratitude for work done by Fr. Joel and his team out of their small office in the archive building in Germantown. We are blessed to be able to support that work.
May God bless you in the week ahead, and may Our Lady wrap you in her love and grace, drawing you closer to her Son.
Yours in St. Vincent,
Fr. Steve Grozio, CM

Seminarian heads South
Seminarian Saúl Bonifacio is spending a month away from the Miraculous Medal House in New York City, to travel south and visit Our Lady of Guadalupe in Charlotte, North Carolina. We pray that this visit deepens his faith and gives him strength along his vocational journey!
Our Lady of Guadalupe runs a fantastic Facebook page. Posts can be easily translated and we recommend giving them a follow!
Support the work of the Vincentians!
The Vincentian Priests and Brothers of the Eastern Province serve those on the margins in areas often forgotten by the world.

Our world’s most poor and in need have received care and assistance from the Congregation of the Mission for 400 years. Please consider making a gift to the Vincentians here.

Your gift will support the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal and the great work of the Vincentian priests, brothers, and seminarians who serve across the eastern United States and Panama. Your support ensures the Vincentians continue their mission to help those in most need.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We are extremely grateful for your support.
